Quick Turn PCB Assembly & Schedule Review

A quick turn project needs a complete release and a credible materials plan before an accelerated assembly slot has meaning. Begin with the date tested boards must arrive, then work backwards.

Find the actual schedule constraint

Review time, fabrication, component procurement, assembly, testing and transit are separate activities. Procurement and bare-board fabrication may overlap, but assembly normally waits for both. A long-lead component cannot be recovered by shortening reflow or skipping required inspection.

Prepare an approval path

Identify an engineer who can answer DFM and substitution questions promptly. Freeze the delivery quantity, BOM and test scope. If a first article needs customer approval, reserve time for review. Ask whether the quoted duration is working days, calendar days, factory completion or delivery to your destination.

Make tradeoffs explicit

Splitting the order or approving an alternate can help some projects, but each change needs engineering and commercial approval. Record extra freight, expedite fees and exclusions in the revised quote. Do not accept a schedule that relies on unconfirmed stock or on test coverage being silently removed.
