Automotive PCB Assembly Project Requirements

Vehicle electronics programs need customer-specific requirements to be visible before quoting. Environmental exposure, change control and required process evidence can affect both cost and supplier suitability.

Define the application requirements

State the intended installation environment, operating conditions and customer approval requirements. Identify mandated quality-system or production approval documentation and verify current evidence directly. Avoid treating general electronics assembly experience as proof that a particular program requirement has been met.

Connect requirements to acceptance

Define component traceability, test coverage, serialization and the response to part substitutions or process changes. Include connector retention, coating, thermal interface and mechanical requirements where relevant. Align prototype acceptance with the separate criteria that will apply to production release.

Before supplier selection

Submit the relevant drawings, parts list, expected environment and required documentation. Ask for a project-specific feasibility review and current evidence of any qualifications required for your program. This page describes planning considerations; it does not assert a medical, automotive or other application-specific certification.
