LED PCB Assembly & Thermal Build Requirements

LED assemblies depend on thermal management, correct polarity and repeatable optical conditions. The assembly package should explain how the board fits into the complete lighting system.

Define the application requirements

Specify the board construction, thermal interfaces, LED part and bin requirements, polarity and handling instructions. Identify optical surfaces that require protection and adhesives or mounting materials that are part of the design. Confirm compatibility of assembly and cleaning processes with the selected components.

Connect requirements to acceptance

Define the electrical drive conditions and stabilization time for functional testing. If brightness, color or thermal performance is an acceptance criterion, state the method and limits rather than requesting an undefined light-up test. Include fixture, heatsink and enclosure requirements that affect the result.

Before supplier selection

Submit the relevant drawings, parts list, expected environment and required documentation. Ask for a project-specific feasibility review and current evidence of any qualifications required for your program. This page describes planning considerations; it does not assert a medical, automotive or other application-specific certification.
